Coupon Tips for Summer Vacations
- If you have some flexibility in your travel plans, book your flight first. Flying over the weekend tends to be cheaper than flying during the weekday. Find out what airlines fly out of your home or regional airport and check prices on each airlines' website. Often they'll offer cheaper fares than what you'll find from the travel discount websites like Travelocity or Expedia.
- When booking your hotel room, make sure you check to see if they offer any additional discounts such as military, AAA, AARP, etc.
- Also, check to see if the hotel offers any packages that include activities like admission to zoos, museums, aquariums, shows, etc. Or, if they offer discounts if you book the activities through them.
- See if you can use any discount cards or coupon books such as City Pass, Smart Destinations, the Entertainment Book, etc.
- Check to see if there are any local coupons available. You can search by city or zip code on CouponShack Local. Just local businesses are listed here.
- Once there, check to see if there are any local coupon books or brochures. You'll find them in the hotel lobby, gas stations, grocery stores, etc.
- When checking in, see if the hotel or resort has a loyalty program. If they do, go ahead and sign up. It's free and you never know when it might come in handy.
