The Isotoner company was founded in 1910 under the Aris Glove Company. They originally manufactured fine quality leather gloves and knit accessories in Europe, but later gained interest in the United States. It was not until the early 1970s that the Aris Glove Company first developed the glove that would eventually rebrand the company to Isotoner. This glove was made of nylon and spandex and had leather trim. The glove was marketed as Isotoner gloves, which means "isometric" and "toning". The overwhelming success of this glove eventually led to the name change Aris Isotoner, but most people today refer to the company as Isotoner.
