  2. For whatever reason, our guess is for marketing purposes, most of the airlines declare their coupons as promotion codes, promo codes, or promotional codes. When looking for that extra discount try searching for those instead of just coupons.
  3. If you are flexible with your travel plans, choose to fly out of the airport on a Sunday. These days typically offer much lower fares than during the weekdays.
  4. Take advantage of the airlines partnerships. Need to rent a car or book a hotel room. Most airlines have teamed up with these partners to offer these deals if you make your reservations through the airlines.
  5. Carefully read the airline policies. In particular the luggage policies. It used to be free to check luggage. Then you were charged for that. Then carry-on luggage was charged. Now there are over-sized charges. It can save you a lot of money if you know the limits of what you can pack an bring before you go.
  6. If you are a member of AAA, CAA, or AARP, check your benefits. Often times you can get an additional discount just be being a member of one of these clubs.
  7. Buy your airline tickets late. This of course only works if you are flexible. Watch for last minute deals on flights. Typically you will find these a week or 2 in advance. Some airlines even have a airfare club which releases these deals regularly to their members.
