We've come a long way since the launch of our original e-commerce website in 1996 thanks to your continued business. Our goal has always been to provide you with the best possible customer experience, and we will continue to do this.
The reputation that we've built over the years is vital to our success. Thousands of customers can't be wrong. Back in 1995, three of us started Entertainment Earth in a small office and garage in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. We were collectors of all kinds of things, ranging from Star Wars and Star Trek toys to costumes and movie props and a little of everything in between. Eventually, we noticed how difficult it was to maintain our collections. Taking off from work or spending a weekend running around to multiple retailers on "The Hunt" trying to find rare toys and collectibles became difficult. Not only did we not have the time to do this, but the stores rarely had what we wanted. Sure they had tons of common action figures, but where were the rare ones? We did get lucky from time to time, but often had to settle for items in not-mint condition (with damaged packaging). What a waste of a morning or afternoon! Buying these items from dealers never really appealed to us either. Why should we pay an incredibly high price for a toy that should be available for retail price? We admit to being selfish when we started this business. We wanted to find a simple way to buy all of the new action figures and toys at reasonable prices without wasting our time. Our solution was right in front of us, similar to the big-box warehouse store model, we decided to sell full cases of action figures. Thankfully, we were not the only collectors who felt this was a good solution. Combining our knowledge of collectibles with the endless possibilities of the Internet seemed to be a natural next step. We had already been using the Internet for a number of years and were founding voters for the original rec.arts.sf.starwars newsgroup. The results of our efforts are right here. Since 1996 we've shipped collectibles to thousands of customers around the world. Today we sell a lot more than cases of action figures, both via the Internet and through our full-color catalog. In fact, we're considered one of the Top 500 leading e-commerce companies today (Source: Interactive Week, November 5, 2001). We outgrew our garage a long time ago and now operate out of a 17,000 square foot facility in North Hollywood, California.
