Shipping & Delivery
All deliveries are made Monday through Friday. UPS and Federal Express cannot deliver to P.O. boxes. To ensure delivery, you must provide a complete street address. Let us know if you prefer delivery to your workplace. A phone number is required for all furniture, plant and rush delivery orders. We cannot ship to U.S. territories, Canada, Mexico or overseas locations. For heavy or oversized items, an additional delivery charge appears after the price.
Regular Delivery
Allow 7 to 10 business days for delivery of in-stock items. Very large or heavy items may take longer.
Rush Delivery
Most orders placed by 10 a.m. MT Monday to Friday can be shipped 2 to 3 business-day arrival within the continental U.S. for an additional $15. Rush delivery for oversized or furniture items is available only by quote from one of our product specialists at 1-800-940-1170.
Standard Delivery for Furniture
Standard Delivery includes furniture unassembled and delivered in a box to your doorstep
Premium Setup for Furniture
You can arrange to have furniture preassembled, brought to your home and placed at your discretion. The additional charge for this service varies by item; the minimum charge is $150. Please call 1-800-940-1170 to receive a quote. Prices for furniture sets include an upgrade to Premium Setup. (Standard Delivery charges apply.)
Plant Delivery
Orders for live plants are processed within 7 to 10 business days. Then our growers ship the plants via FedEx for 2 to 3 day delivery. Plants and containers sometimes ship separately. Oversized plants may incur an additional delivery charge. Because every living plant is unique, the one you receive will vary somewhat from its depiction. Due to weather and other conditions beyond our control, shipment may be delayed or a similar plant of equal or greater value may be substituted.
Alaska/Hawaii Delivery
Please call for shipping rates. We cannot deliver seeds or live plants to Alaska or Hawaii.
Gift Boxing
We offer custom gift-boxing with a personal message on many items for an additional $4.95 per item. Gifts are nestled in printed tissue, tucked into our green box and tied with ribbon. For any gift item shipped to the recipient, we’ll print and enclose your personal message free of charge.
Returns & Exchanges
Our Return Policy
At Smith & Hawken, our goal is to offer products of the finest quality to our customers. Our merchandise is manufactured using long-lasting materials and carefully inspected before shipping. If you are not completely satisfied, simply return the item (with receipt) within 60 days for an exchange or refund. In the case of manufacturer defects, we will gladly provide a replacement or refund for up to one full year. Our Premium Teak™ furniture is warranted against manufacturer defects for the lifetime of the original purchaser; other furniture is warranted for three years.
Teak for Life Guarantee™
We offer teak furniture of the finest quality and guarantee every piece against manufacturing defects for your lifetime. For damage due to wear and tear, we can facilitate repairs on most items at a reasonable cost.
Plants Promise™
We promise to ship plants, bulbs, and seeds in prime condition, at the appropriate time for your climate zone, and with information about proper care. If you provide proper care but the plant fails to thrive, we will replace it or issue a refund within 30 days for plants or 9 months for bulbs and seeds. Please understand that we cannot be responsible for extreme weather or improper care.
Returning an Item
To return an item by mail, please repackage it, enclose the packing slip, insure the package, and send it back to us. Our return address is Smith & Hawken, 1226 Aviation Boulevard, Hebron, KY 41048. We will refund or credit the value of the item, including taxes. Shipping charges are not refundable. You may also return items purchased online to any Smith & Hawken store.
