The tender shoots of spring have finally delivered their promise—summer is in full bloom here in the Midwest. Our season may be short, but we make the most of every day.
I've been busy planting, pruning and watering for weeks. Gardening is one of my favorite warm-weather getaways. It always leaves me feeling recharged and refreshed. Could it be that simply digging in the dirt keeps us young at heart?
My boys are active, with a sport for every season. They've traded their hockey skates for cleats, so I'm as busy as ever, cheering on their baseball teams. Jackson, my oldest, is enjoying his last summer at home before heading off to college in the fall. I'm slowly preparing myself for the change this milestone will bring, but for now, we're looking forward to long sunny days filled with laughter and family adventures.
