At first, the family’s vacation at Beaches Boscobel was meant to keep the kids busy and let the adults unwind. It is break from the daily work routine. Perhaps the kids can learn something, like scuba diving and wind surfing. And if the sun and sand activities are not enough, the Beaches Boscobel has the Xbox Game Oasis center. All vacation package deals include unlimited free play for kids at this center. The lure of computer games never fails to keep the kids glued to electronic adventures for many hours.
In the meantime, the adults can work on their tans. But things immediately changed the moment the family entered the Oceanview Bedroom Suite. It wasn’t the incredible 360-view of the ocean and resort, nor the stunning, luxurious design of the suite that brought the change. It was the argument between the kids.
“Dad can’t do that.” The older one said firmly.
“Why not?” the younger one asked, confused.
“Dad is not a secret agent or anything exciting like that. He’d even be afraid to go down a lousy water slide.”
“That is not true.” The dad spoke the words so fast that the kids’ disbelief is understandable. And so the family was off to the Pirates Island Water Park, where the supposedly cowardly Dad demonstrated how easy it was to go down the tube slide, the body slide, and the speed slide. The kids were awed and then their attention moved on to the water cannons and the treasure chest…while mom and dad relaxed at the swim-up pool bar, where they enjoyed the unlimited, freshly squeezed tropical margaritas that came with their vacation package.
Lunch was at the fun Barbecue Park and the whole afternoon was spent playing beach volleyball on the softest white sand against gorgeous teal waters. The kids were finally tired and the youngest was already sleeping on his father’s arms, as the whole family trooped back to the suite.
The first day of vacation was not the anticipated day of relaxation. But everyone had fun and Dad’s reputation underwent a change from the staid to the exciting. And the excitement did not end with the sunset. The adults wanted to try the famed Caribbean cuisine served at Eleonor’s. But to get their second wind for the day, they went to the Red Lane Spa to get a massage. Refreshed and energized, the couple donned their evening clothes and headed off to the restaurant. Of course, they made sure that the concierge will bring in the kid’s dinner to the suite.
Surprisingly, the couple found themselves invigorated the next day. The physical challenge of the previous day inspired the family. They decided to join the Safari. It was an adventure, but it was also a cultural experience. The kids were fascinated with Jamaica. Going back to Beaches Boscobel, the family had dinner at the delicious Bayside before resting for an exciting day ahead.
The next day, the family played golf. A free golf clinic was given and youngest dreamed of becoming the next Tiger Woods. As the afternoon arrived, the family donned swimsuits and embarked upon a kayak adventure taking them through the teal waters – and the children squealed in delight as they saw the schools of tropical fish, turtles, and sea life surround them.
The vacation package at Beaches Boscobel was not to unwind, but to recapture the joys of being with the family and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
