The best plans … always go wrong. And your vacation wasn’t even a complicated plan. In fact, it’s quite cut-and-dried. The kids are staying with the grandparents while you and your wife will spend one week of wonderfully relaxed days at the Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa. But the kids got on the internet and found out about the French Village within the resort. They wanted to go too. Sil vous plait. It was the French for “please.” “Pretty please,” the youngest daughter pleaded, and you could not really deny her sweet little face.
Fortunately, the resort has several vacation packaged deals, and one of them included a family getaway. And upon arrival at the stunning resort, you were happy to note that the lush grounds were certainly big enough for your three kids to play – while giving you and your wife some moments of privacy. There are five large pools with 4 swim-up bars. And if they wanted a bigger pool, there is the clear turquoise sea that is stretched before the resort on a 12-mile white sand beach. But so far, the most attractive feature for the kids was the Pirates Island Waterpark. In fact, it was the first placed that they checked out.
You and your wife were pleased by the suite that you enjoyed. You have access to all modern amenities that make life convenient, yet outside, you can step into a fantasy tropical world in which the modern world seemed to be foreign. The palms are dazzling and the gardens are simply extraordinary. And to assist and pamper you, there is also a personalized butler, who told you of the culinary delights that await every meal. There are 10 specialty restaurants in the area, and some of them are the Reflections, the Arizona’s, the Kimono’s, Giuseppe’s, Sapodilla’s, Schooner’s, Bobby D’s, Le Petit Chateau, and Café de Paris.
The kids returned with huge grins on their faces, and they were bubbling with all the water adventures they took. They had fun with the huge water slides and the dashing pool. They found out that there is a game center, the Xbox Game Oasis, in which the newest games are included. And they are asking you if they could join a kids’ camp. The eldest, recognizing the need for a reasonable voice added: “it would be a learning experience for us…plus everything’s included in the vacation package.” You agreed. But you reminded them to explore the French Village. It is, after all, the reason why they wanted to join this vacation. “Oui, Dad, oui.”
You sighed as they left again. You are happy with the fact that they are having fun, but what about your own adventure? Your wife told you that there is also an adventure here waiting for adults? You raised your eyebrows and visualized private parties at the pool or at several garden nooks. Your wife, reading your mind, shook her head.
“This resort is famous for having one of the best diving destinations in the world.” Your face fell. “We are scuba diving?” She nodded. “We had it included in our vacation package deal.” You agreed, thinking it could be a unique experience, seeing the underwater flora and fauna. Your wife laughed. “Actually, I am more interested in seeing the oldest shipwrecks.” And with that note, you took her hand and headed out the door for adventure and excitement that would make lifetime memories.
