You knew that taking a grand vacation together was one of the most brilliant ideas you ever had. It is not just an ordinary vacation because you plan to have good old fashioned father-and-son bonding.
It’s been a long time since you and your six-year-old son spent time alone together. It’s the perfect opportunity, and the vacation package deal from the Beach Palace is just the thing that you need. You can visualize yourself and your son peacefully lounging and relaxing in the pool, with you are sipping a cocktail while he is drinking his tropical juice.
This vision was so strong that as soon as you arrived at the Beach Palace, you planned to haul your son to the pool and order the drinks. But it’s not easy to leave the guest room. Staying inside is tempting, with the elegant Caribbean-inspired design and the modern amenities. You were impressed with the bath facilities. And your son, overwhelmed by the excitement of the vacation, found it a good idea to rest for awhile on the plush comfortable bed.
Eventually, you and your son reached the pool. The sun was cheerfully warm, and the wonderful ocean breeze from the Caribbean blended harmoniously with the scents and sounds of this tropical paradise called Beach Palace.
It was perfect until your son started talking. “Go ahead, Dad, tell me what’s bothering you.” You wondered what in the world he is talking about. With caution in your voice, you asked, “what do you mean?” Your son shrugged his shoulders. “I figured you brought me here because you wanted someone to talk to. You know … guy to guy talk.” It was funny but you dared not laugh. Your mind raced to find a suitable answer, but a sudden thought alarmed you. “Your son is growing up so fast.” And so you decided to be honest with him. “I just missed you, son. That is why I brought you here, so we can spend time together.”
However, the plan of “spending time together” was short-lived when your son decided to join the Kids Club. He enjoyed meeting new friends. He was fascinated with the various fun activities. And he practiced his swimming skills at the Kiddie Pool. You, on the other hand, checked out the Fitness Center. With the vacation package deal you obtained, you have access to the center’s state-of-the-art equipment.
After a few hours, you and your son met for dinner. There were four specialty restaurants that offer a wide variety of gastronomic delights. There is the Tequila, a restaurant that specializes in opulent Mexicana and international cuisine. There is the Bocelli, a restaurant provides guest with excellent Italian and Mediterranean dining experience. There is the Wok, a restaurant that brings together the best of oriental dishes. And there is the La Terraza for a dinner a la carte of grilled fine cuts.
After dinner, you spent time together watching the resort-sponsored show. Every night, there is also a themed party for guests who wanted to socialize with other guests. It was the first of a series of exciting evenings for you and your son. Back in your guest room, you were pleasantly surprised by his hug. “This vacation is wonderful. I love you Dad.”
