Bringing the children long for this vacation may not be a great idea. One is a teenager who seems to be intent on getting a boyfriend. And the other is a smart-mouth kid who couldn’t keep himself still. Yet, your wife insisted that a family vacation package deal at the Cancun Palace would be a great way for you to unwind and relax. You are, of course, dubious. You need to keep an eye on your daughter all the time. And maybe fend off boys. And you sincerely hope that there are no teenage boys at the Cancun Palace. And then you need to watch your son. He is a tornado on his own. “Are you sure this is a good idea?” You asked your wife again on the wisdom of taking a Cancun vacation. And she answered a simple yes.
The Cancun Palace is an impressive resort. One part of it faces the wide Caribbean Sea. And only a stretch of white-sand beach separates the people from the wonderful coolness of the clear waters. The other side of the Cancun Palace is bordered by the Nichupte Lagoon, a relaxing escape for people who love nature.
The staff was exuberant about the renovations, as the resort could now cater to the needs of every member of the family. The suite they chose was luxurious and equipped with various modern amenities, including a wireless internet connection. “You can use it, but you are not supposed to work,” your wife warned. “I’ll check out the pool,” your daughter said on her way out of the suite. “I will join the Kids’ Club,” your son announced. Work or not, you just knew that you won’t be relaxed.
Your wife dragged you to the resort’s fitness center. Her plan is for both of you to work out a sweat and then you can head off to the spa and have complete relaxation. “What about our children?” “Don’t worry,” she said, “we will be checking up on them.” Thus, after working out for a few minutes, you went outside to search for your daughter. She was playing pool volleyball with other girls. Then you searched for the Kids’ Club to check on your son. He was concentrating to learn how to play the foosball table.
You spend time with your wife at the Spa. She told you that you’re not relaxed enough. But you do believe that you are relaxing. You are not working, after all. A few minutes later, you went out again to see what your daughter is doing. She’s still playing at the pool. This time, it is pool basketball. Your son is now at the Ping pong table. Both of your children seems to be doing fine and having a great time.
“Come on, honey, we better eat,” you wife said. There were five restaurants to choose from. These are the El Mercado, the Frida, the Miyako, the Leonardo, and the Steak. All these restaurants provide a variety of dishes that range from the Mexican to the Italian, to the Oriental, and to other favorite dishes from around the world.
“What about our children,” you asked, “aren’t they supposed to eat?” Your wife nodded. “Yes, they are on their way here.” You were confused. “How do you know that?”
“Honey, this resort provides cellular phones with free service. This is how we check on our children.” You nodded. “Yes, of course. I knew that,” as you finally relaxed into the plush chair, ready to enjoy your tropical vacation package.
