To say the least, it was the most distracting thing that you’ve ever seen: a barely-clad woman with a voluptuous body that moved to the pulsating salsa dance. But it was the first thing that you laid your eyes on as you passed by the Aerobics Room of the Fitness Center of the Adventure Spa Palace. You took a vacation package deal at this Resort so that you can unwind from your high-pressure work and perhaps become a little bit more fit. This is why you keep going to the Fitness Center and work at the weights and treadmill. But this is not why you keep passing the Aerobics Room and why your eyes automatically searched for this woman.
But she wasn’t there anymore. Maybe she already went home. Maybe she wasn’t that pretty or that sexy. It was a fluke. But it was distracting and somewhat alarming. And so you spent the rest of your vacation days trying to find peace.
You went to the Yoga Hut and found the breathing and movements fascinating. However, the other women there looked at you as if you are an alien. And so you visited the Labrynth Zen Path. This area inside the Adventure Spa Palace was modeled after the Path in the Chartre Cathedral in France. But you ended up spending long minutes imagining her with you, walking barefoot on the soft white sand and listening to the waves of the Caribbean Sea.
Still you persevered. You went to the meditation garden in order to find some measure of peace. But you were just visualizing her smile and her laugh as you dine in all the gourmet restaurants in the Adventure Spa Palace. Her eyes sparkled as the waters of the pool are reflected in her eyes, and you feast on Mediterranean cuisine at the Greco Restaurant. Her hair flirtatiously moved as she attempts to use the chopsticks while dining at the MoMoNoHana. Her smile hypnotized you as you were enjoying Italian fine dining at the La Trattoria. And you were helping her finish off the tacos as you were feasting on Mexican fare at the La Hacienda.
"I got it bad," you finally admit to yourself. "And maybe, a different strategy will work to ease my imagination." Thus, you played tennis against other guests. You went out snorkeling and then kayaking. And you nearly exhausted yourself at the lap pool. The day went by rapidly and you began to believe that you are finding yourself again. And it is the first time in days that you are looking forward to spending restful hours inside your luxuriously equipped guest room.
"Maybe you’ll run into her," a traitorous part of your mind suggested. If she is a guest, her vacation must have ended today and you wouldn’t see her again. But she was there, right in front of you. She is a vision, standing below one of the romantic archways and among the riotous colors of the flowers. The sound of the colonial fountain seemed deafening and receding all at once.
“The spa here is one of the world’s best,” she said with a smile. “Would you like to try it with me?”
